I think the best time of year is the fall season when nature goes on sabbatical, fall season and prepares for a new beginning, which is spring. I love the changing of the guard and how it happens every year at the same time, whether our lives are prepared for the change or not. I also believe it is nature’s way of bringing family and friends together to celebrate our love and the many blessings we take for granted during the year.
I especially take great care in preparing my holiday meals. “The calls weeks prior with dish requests, along with the rewards I receive in the smiles from the dinner table as we fellowship once again is something I look forward to.. I anticipate how much our family has grown from one year to the next, the lasting friendships, and the promise of keeping in touch with one another in the following year.
I have always believed, because you are not a product of circumstance, you will always have a reason to give thanks, be joyful and rejoice for there is no better gift than the gift of life. Because of our situations or our conditions we tend to forget that we deserve all things good and precious in our lives, which includes family. Each year during this time, we are reminded to practice gratitude and thanks. This year is no different, as we show our appreciation for everything in our lives, both big and small. As we sit at our tables this holiday season, whether it is a family of many or an intimate dinner for two, be thankful and humble for the many blessings bestowed on your life and those placed in your life.
