Ambrosia Malone

"I had been in SL for over 4 years and the thought of joining any organized group besides the “dance club groups” had never even crossed my mind. I came across an event at the Red Door one evening and saw the Sigma title on several women there. I admit to being a profile stalker briefly and from what I saw I was immediately interested. Almost every woman in SuN was a business owner, or talented in some way, had a family in SL and had been in RL sororities to boot. I had never had a chance to pledge in RL and at first thought it would be a fun RP, but I discovered that these ladies meant business for real. And like RL sorors sometimes they go their separate ways in life, I too haven’t been able to log in frequently anymore, yet every time I do I get at least half a dozen “Sis !” messages that pop up. That’s why I pledged Sigma, no matter how long the rope stretch’s I know these ladies are still holding the other end.” Soror Ambrosa Malone (Big Sister Unshakeable)

Bio of Soror Ambrosia Malone

Name: I prefer to go by Amber Gabardini in-world.

Soror Name & Line Information: Big Sister Unshakable, Enlightment Line

SL Age and Rezz Day: 28 – Rezz Day 07/06/2006

Partner: Single in RL and SL

Children: 3 wonderful children in RL, 1 daughte in SL 🙂

What does sisterhood mean to you: No one is going to get along 24/7, it’s impossible, but when times are tough you still know that woman you call “Sis” is going to have your back no matter what. Sometimes even if you’re wrong, she’ll be at your side as a united front in public but gently take you aside later and tell you “That wasn’t right”. That’s what sisterhood means to me.

How many started and finished your pledge line? I actually don’t remember how many young women started my pledge but 5 of us crossed in the end. The Fab Five 🙂

Would you go through pledge again & why? I would actually pledge again. I feel like my focus was clouded by some negative influences in my RL life at the time. I felt a bit disjointed from my line sisters sometimes and I don’t think I got the full benefit of what pledging had to offer me.

What is your fondest memory of to date of being a Soror of SuN? Anytime I’m with my sorors it’s a great time. When we’re all at an event and also in a private conference I feel like we’re sharing these personal conversations and a bond that no one else can see. I love that.

I’d also like to say I do feel grateful on so many levels for Soror Cleopatra Kellman, for not letting me fall every time I tried to cut the rope. It helped to know that someone was still there even when I was acting a fool.

Your SL Occupation:  Creative writing teacher at Eden Valley high school.  Owner and Head Photographer of I.N.V.U Studios. I’ve spent years being a shutterbug; capturing moments everywhere in SL and RL. I love to be able to give people the gift of a memory keepsake they can cherish. With the help of my SL father and the motivation of a new friend I finally stepped out of my comfort zone and went for it. I opened my own studio in January 2013 and I couldn’t be happier.

What do you do for fun in SL? When I’m in-world I love to explore different Sims (my favorites are the ones that are patterned after RL cities) I love to shop, and find live events like poetry readings and live singers.

When you listen to music what is the first genre you choose? R&B, Pop, Rock… essentially anything really.

Who is your favorite recording artist? For female singers I have loved Sade since I was a small girl and her voice has remained awesome throughout the decades. For male artist I was always a big Michael Jackson fan and lately I have come to love Bruno Mars. He has an “old school” look and sound that is irresistible.

What is your favorite movie and what is your favorite line from that movie?  I saw Heart and Souls when I was a teen and I love it. One line stood out to me that I use whenever I’m fearful of a new endeavor. “No offense. But you died a failure because you never tried.”

What is your favorite television show? Mysteries of the Museum and anything on the History Channel, HGTV, and FoodNetwork

What is your favorite flavor of Ice Cream? Mmmm, Butter Pecan  w/ Caramel drizzled over it.

If you had to plan your last meal, what would it be? It would include bacon, that’s all I know. For someone that tries to stay healthy; Bacon is my Achilles Heel. 🙂

You just had the bad day what do you do to relax? A long hot shower, spending time playing some board games with my kids, venting to my bestie and then  I spend the rest of the night with the lights off with a movie in the DVD player or some music playing.

If you had a special super power what be and how would you use it?. Omni-linguism : Ability to understand any form of language. I think one major cause of conflict begins with a language barrier, if everyone could understand each other without confusion maybe we could accomplish more
