Ngozi Nyoki

I pledged SuN with the hope of joining a sisterhood of women that upheld the belief of unity and service. What I found was that, plus a genuine connection that reaches beyond SL, and provides a constant source of upliftment and care. The women of SuN are intelligent, talented and thinkers...and they know how to have a good time too! My Sorors are my SL family and I am proud to be a member of Sigma Upsilon Nu. - Ngozi Nyoki (BIG SISTER COURAGE)

What does sisterhood mean to you?  Sisterhood means a bond beyond just friendship…women who I’ve come to rely upon as my confidants and who love me and I love them despite all of us having some faults.

How many started and finished your pledge line? My line started with 3 and we crossed as three (One Line, One Soul).

Would you go through pledge again & why? Yes, I would definitely go through pledge again. I learned a lot about myself in the process.  There were some painful moments but the fruit of the labor was worth it.

What is your fondest memory to date of being a Soror of SuN?   Hanging with my sorors at events is the most enjoyable part of being in SuN…sharing in the joy of seeing so many residents of SL come out to our events and support our charities is the best feeling.  🙂

Your SL Occupation:   My last SL occupation was as a hostess for Honey 103, but I’ve since given up working in SL and just enjoy…let’s just say Ngozi hit the “win for life” lottery.  LOL

What type of Role play you do if any in SL?   I don’t currently role play in SL, but would like to begin exploring this.

What do you do for fun in SL?   I mostly enjoy reading my poetry/spoken word in SL.  Whenever I can find an open mic I’m in my glory.

What is your pet peeve in SL:   Folks who are mean for no reason other than the anonymity of SL.  Men and Women who pretend like they don’t know better when they do.

When you listen to music what is the first genre you choose? R&B

Who is your favorite recording artist? Wow now that’s a tuff one, I love so many.  For now I’ll mention India.Arie, John Legend, Jill Scott, Anthony Hamilton, Raheem DeVaughn, Chrisette Michele, and Jazmine Sullivan.

What is your favorite movie and what is your favorite line from that movie. My favorite movie is “Untouchables” and my favorite line is when Sean Connery is dying and he questions, “Now what are you prepared to do?”

What is your favorite television show?   My favorite show is Scandal…but I only watch it on hulu.com or abc.com…I don’t watch tv with any regularity.

Do you follow sports what is your favorite sport and team?  I don’t follow sports, but if I had a favorite it would be football and the Ravens would be my team (had to reach back to the days when I did watch football with my ex for that answer).

What is your favorite flavor of Ice Cream?   Banana!

If you had to plan your last meal, what would it be?   Salmon, Strawberry salad, baked sweet potato with cranberries and red onions.

You just had the bad day what do you do to relax?  Lay down, pull up my laptop and play Farmville.  I need to take my mind off my day and do something mundane that doesn’t require a lot of thought.

If you had a special super power what be and how would you use it? I would be able to teleport in RL…travel the globe and take others on journeys with me.
